"yeah i suppose." he said. "the training wouldn't do any harm though if you did end up facing him. But then you'd be tied to the ministry rather than doing what you want to do. They wuldn't let any trained aurors quit."
He had no idea about the contents of the prophecy, and was sceptical regarding the whole 'chosen one' thing. He also didn't know than Ron and Hermione intended to help Harry with every step.
"It's surprising really. Reading about the deaths and things in the paper don't affect me much, but the small things that have gone or can no longer be taken for granted do. I can't plan a future because in two years time Voldemort may be in power and anything I would like to do may no longer exist as an option. Not being able to go to Hogsmeade on a weekend, that angers me more than hearing the deaths of children. You, it seems plan to put everything on hold to defeat him. That's what annoys me. How everything good or worthwhile has to stop or disappear entirely to compensate for some power-hungry manic."
he surprised himself by saying that. Maybe he shouldn't remain neutral, and try to do something to bring things back to the way they were.
"sorry about the rant. it has made me wonder why i'm neutral in all this."

Hermione nodded. Was brang up a lot of good points, things were so much different than before and they didn't necessarily have to be. Hogsmeade didn't have to close down, but it did anyways. Maybe if it was open things wouldn't be as depressing around the school and students wouldn't have to stay inside practically all day. "It's okay," Hermione said. "But being neutral is probably better than choosing sides," she replied. But it was true, at least being neutral you didn't have as good a chance of getting killed in all this.
As they walked Hermione wondered where exactly they were headed. "Where do you want to go?" she asked curiously turning to Was and waiting for a reply.

"yeah i guess you're right." he said, adding, "although that depends on how long this lasts. i expect i will have to choose a side before this is over."
He didn't like the idea of joining sides with a power-hungry maniac who would kill him for no reason. At least with the good side he wouldn't live in fear of the guy in charge. Anything he did would be appreciated more as well. He quickly thought about what would happen if he killed Voldemort. He couldn't help but smile. He came to his senses quickly and stopped. She'd think he was weird or soething.
"where to go... the grounds? the lake? around there?" he suggested. he thought that would be nice, despite the cold of early autumn.
